Peace on Earth
What kind of vision for peace in your life and the in lives of those upon the earth do you hold in your heart and mind?

Do you actually hold a vision for peace in your heart and mind? Just by keeping a vision for peace and a determination to do what you can to bring a gentle vision into being you contribute to the movement toward peace.

It sounds, perhaps, too simplistic and easy, but in fact it is not an effortless endeavor to transform feelings and situations from anger, pain or sadness to situations more optimistic, hopeful and open. It is the difference between being closed and open, actually, and being open requires more courage--more strength and determination--than being closed does. Being dis-couraged is easier, and the multitude of turmoil and pain reported in the news only en-courages that dis-couragement.

Bringing peace into your life and the lives of those you touch requires a vision, a commitment, and the courage to become a transforming presence. You have the ability to change more than you may believe you can. You have the ability to become the peaceful presence you seek and you hope to find in your daily life and in your world.

Be the "peace on earth" of which the angels sang. Believe in peace on earth. The vision, the commitment and the courage will make you a transforming presence.

Peace to you this day. Peace.

The Season of Gifts
It is time again to give...we have set this time apart based on our traditions and beliefs to give gifts to one another..to those we love and those we acknowledge as being important lights in our lives. The gifts we give do not have to be based on monetary expenditures, though. We weary ourselves with making our giving an arduous task. We have other gifts we may not be aware of or value which in many cases might mean more than those we wrap and tape and adorn with bows. We give a smile and it may make another's day. Wrapped in our smile is gratitude for the joy of living. Enclosed in the gift of joy is gratitude for what we have...our ability to see a natural world of beauty in sunrise and sunset, in stars and moon, in trees standing firm and stark in the Winter light. Our joy encloses the gift of sound: music and the chirp of early morning birds as well as the touch of the sun and the breezes dancing across our bodies as we walk along a quiet path. The gifts we give which mean the most are the small ones we take so much for granted. In order to give them we must first receive and acknowledge them...we must be grateful for and appreciate each one of them. And we give ourselves the gift of peace from within this gratitude for all of these gifts of our life.

The gift of peace is given to you today. Open it with gratitude and you will receive it. Peace to you this day. Peace.
